Yin Yoga –
The art of letting go
Yin Yoga is a passive yoga style and often referred to as Yoga of the joints. Postures are held between 3-5 minutes (sometimes even up to 10 minutes) and we invite rebounds to feel into the sensations of the body.
The target area in Yin Yoga isn’t the muscle (like in other Yoga styles) but the deep connective tissue. Connective tissue is made up of fascia, ligaments and tendons which surrounds our joints.
Yin Yoga is a meditative practice that invites stillness and therefor creates a lot of space. One of the reasons Yin can feel so nurturing is that it is a time when we can create some space in our life.
Silence is an empty space.
Space is the home of an awakened mind.
