What is Yoga?
Yoga isn’t just a physical practice. Yoga is so much more. Yoga is a practice where you get to know yourself. A practice that teaches us that we can’t always change the external world but we can choose how we react to it.
The word Yoga translates to ‘Union‘. It unifies mind, body and spirit. Yoga is a collection of mental, physical and spiritual practices and originated from ancient India.
The physical practice of Yoga, also referred to as ‘asana’, is the most commonly know in the western world. Asana, yoga, is the third limb of Yoga as part of the 8 Limbs of Yoga (Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras). For centuries, practicing yoga meant meditating in Sukhasana (easy seat).
